A Lowe’s receipt stays valid for the survey for 7 calendar days from the date printed on it. After that the survey ID stops working and no amount of retyping brings it back.
Calendar days, not business days. A Saturday receipt is dead by the following Saturday, weekend included.
When the clock actually starts
On the transaction date at the top of the receipt, not the day you found it again in a jacket pocket.
Day one is the day you shopped. If you bought a door handle on the 3rd, the 10th is already outside the window.
The time of day does not extend anything. There is no grace period built into the rules.
Why this is the single biggest reason entries fail
Because nobody treats a receipt as urgent. It goes in the glovebox, and the glovebox is where entries go to die.
Five people win $500 each month. Every expired receipt is somebody who was eligible and simply ran out of days.
If you want the habit that fixes it, photograph the bottom of the receipt in the car park and do the survey that evening. It takes no more than 5 minutes, which is Lowe’s own estimate on the survey page.
What the survey does when the receipt is too old
It does not explain itself. You get a closed or invalid message and the form stops there.
That wording confuses people into thinking the whole survey is down, so they retype the ID six times before giving up.
If your receipt is older than a week, the ID is the problem, not the website.
What you can still do after day seven
Enter the same monthly drawing by post. The official rules require a free entry route, and that route has no receipt and no deadline tied to a purchase.
You hand-print your details on a card measuring four inches by five and mail it to PO Box 0368, Falmouth, MA 02556-0368.
A mailed entry counts the same as one from a receipt. Same drawing, same odds, cost of a stamp.
Does the sweepstakes itself expire
The sweepstakes runs in yearly periods split into twelve monthly entry periods. The current period runs from 31 January 2026 to 29 January 2027.
Each month closes with its own drawing, so a receipt from the last days of a month gets you into that month’s draw rather than the next one.
One entry per person and per email address counts in each monthly entry period, so a second receipt in the same month does not double your chances.

My receipt is 8 days old, is there any way round it?
Not through the website. The mail-in entry is the route that still works.
Does the deadline count from delivery or from the order date?
From the date on the receipt you are holding. If your paperwork carries no survey block, use the postal entry instead.
Can I start the survey now and finish it tomorrow?
Treat it as one sitting. Sessions time out, and a part-finished survey is not an entry.
